EeeEEEeeee! Ava is SO CUTE! I am jealous of your little tame sparrow. I have a few pet birds, including some zebra finches (they are cuties too, see a sorta-crappy pic of them here and a pic of my lineolated parakeet Emmy here) but they are not tame. I've often thought of hand-raising one of the finch babies, but I know that I just don't have the time to devote to caring for a baby bird...I read you have to feed them every half-hour?? I don't think I could bring it to work, heh. But someday I am determined to do this and I will have a hand-tame finch. Do you have any more pics of Ava? I'd love to see them.

Argh, the link for the finch picture doesn't work. Try it here. And I also forgot to mention that it never occurred to me to try sniffing the finches...so I don't know if they smell good like sparrows. I'll have to try it next time I need to catch one of them. :)

Didn't see the comment area....Once again, being pressed for time, I found your diary atop of a Kentucky search and quickly became hooked. I hope you don't mind I add you as to my 'favorite' because now I'm intrigued with: sparrow sniffing; growing up in a funeral home; pictures of paintings on walls and cupboards...among other things.
